What a Third-Party Seal Tells You, and What It Doesn't

Quick answer

Third-party testing means an outside lab or program checks a product. USP runs a voluntary verification program that tests finished products for quality, purity and potency. It says nothing about whether a supplement works. We saw no third-party seal on the Trimoryn label and no lab report from any source. A seal helps with quality questions, not with proof of results.

Basics01

What is third-party testing?

It means someone other than the maker tests or audits the product.

Supplements do not need FDA approval before sale. Firms must evaluate the safety and labeling of their own products, and the FDA can act after a product is on the market 1. Outside testing fills part of that gap. It is voluntary, and the maker chooses to take part.

That is why the word "tested" needs a follow-up question: tested by whom, for what, and where is the report?

USP02

What does USP verification mean?

USP verification means the product was tested and audited against quality standards, and nothing more.

USP's Dietary Supplements Verification Program is voluntary. It tests finished products submitted by makers and audits their plants against USP standards and FDA good manufacturing practices, covering quality, purity, potency, performance and consistency. It makes no claim that a verified product works for any health purpose 2.

The NIH points to seals from groups such as ConsumerLab.com, NSF International and USP as signs of quality testing 3. NCCIH cautions that a "standardized", "verified" or "certified" word on a label does not guarantee quality 4. Look for the actual mark and check the group's own list.

Reading seals03

How do you read a seal or a lab claim?

Check who, what, when and whether you can see the report.

Four questions for any testing claim
QuestionGood signWarning sign
Who tested?A named outside group"Lab tested" with no name
What was checked?Identity, purity, potencyVague "quality"
Which batch?Your lot number is coveredA report with no lot
Can you see it?Report or listing you can open"Available on request" and silence

A badge that looks official but names no group proves little. The FDA notes that its own logo should not appear on products, and that registering a facility does not mean approval 5.

The label04

What does the Trimoryn label show?

It shows amounts for every line and a distributor address. It shows no third-party seal.

What is printed

Eleven lines with amounts, no proprietary blend, and the Other Ingredients list.

What is not printed

No USP, NSF or other seal, no maker, no facility and no country of origin.

What we found

No lab report from any source, and no source that tested Trimoryn.

That does not show the product is poor. It shows what is and is not proven. The testing and quality page and the real or fake page cover the checks you can do yourself.

Ask05

What can you ask for?

Ask the seller for the lab name, the report for your lot and the date of testing.

  • Which outside lab tested this batch?
  • Can I see the report for my lot number?
  • Is the product on a seal group's public list?
  • Who makes it, and where?

Contact support at [email protected] or +1 (323) 391-7425. Until you see a report, treat testing talk as a claim, and keep taking prescribed medicine. The pack options are below if you wish to read the label in full.

FAQ06

Trimoryn questions people ask

Does third-party tested mean the FDA signed off?

No. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements, and outside testing is voluntary and about quality only.

Does a USP mark mean the supplement works?

No. USP says its program covers quality, not whether a product works for any health use.

How do I check that a seal is real?

Go to the seal group's own website and search for the brand and product name.

What is a certificate of analysis?

A lab document listing test results for one batch. Match its lot number to your bottle.
