Twelve Milligrams on the Label: How to Read a Resveratrol Dose
Trimoryn lists 12 mg of resveratrol extract, standardized to 20% from Polygonum cuspidatum. That works out to about 2.4 mg of actual resveratrol per capsule. The extract weight and the resveratrol weight are different numbers, and study doses are often larger. No source we read tested this capsule, so the line is a label fact, not a result.

The line01
What does the 12 mg resveratrol line mean?
It means 12 mg of an extract, and only part of that weight is resveratrol itself.
The Supplement Facts line reads "Resveratrol extract (20% from Polygonum cuspidatum) 12 mg." The 20% tells you how much of the extract is the active compound. The rest is plant material that came along with it. Many supplement labels mix up these two numbers, so it pays to read the brackets.
The label is the best source here. Read the full typed list on the Supplement Facts page and compare it with the bottle you hold.
The math02
How much actual resveratrol is in one capsule?
About 2.4 mg, if the 20% figure holds for the batch.
The math is simple: 12 mg times 0.20 equals 2.4 mg. The label does not print a second number for pure resveratrol, so this is our own sum from the printed figures. It is an estimate, not a tested value, because no lab report for the capsule is posted.
| Item | Number | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Extract per capsule | 12 mg | Printed on the label |
| Share that is resveratrol | 20% | Printed on the label |
| Resveratrol per capsule | About 2.4 mg | Our sum, 12 x 0.20 |
| Capsules a day | 1 | Label directions |
One capsule is the label's daily serving, so the daily total stays at that figure.
Studies03
How does that compare with doses in studies?
Study doses are often larger than a few milligrams, and the results are mixed.
A review of pooled trials found that resveratrol intake lowered body weight in people with obesity but not in other groups, and the trials differed a lot from each other 1. That kind of mixed result makes it hard to say what any one dose does. The NIH also notes that studies of resveratrol in diabetes and metabolic markers are mixed, and one trial in overweight adults found no effect on insulin sensitivity 2.
Before you compare, ask three things about any study you read:
- Was the dose in milligrams of pure resveratrol or of extract?
- Did the people match you in age, health and medicines?
- Was it one capsule a day, or a larger split dose?
A dose from a trial does not carry over to a different product by magic. A larger dose is also not a safer one.

Who should ask a clinician before taking it?
Anyone on a blood thinner should ask first, and so should people on other medicines.
Resveratrol may raise bleeding risk in people who take blood thinners such as warfarin 2. Keep taking any prescribed medicine, and ask a pharmacist or doctor before adding a supplement. People who are pregnant or nursing, and anyone under 18, are told by the label not to use Trimoryn. If you plan surgery, tell the surgical team about every supplement. Next step05
What should you do with this number?
Treat 12 mg as one label fact among many, and weigh it against the basics.
The NIH says there is little scientific evidence that weight-loss supplements work, and that they can cause harm 3. Steady habits for food, movement and sleep come first. If you still want to look at Trimoryn, the numbers are printed, and you can check them yourself. The pack choice and the checkout total are on the order page.

FAQ06
Trimoryn questions people ask
Is the resveratrol in Trimoryn the same as the amount in red wine?
The two are hard to compare, because wine amounts vary by bottle and the label counts extract, not pure resveratrol. About 2.4 mg of actual resveratrol is the estimate for one capsule.
Why does the label say 20% from Polygonum cuspidatum?
Polygonum cuspidatum, also called Japanese knotweed, is the plant source. The 20% says how much of the 12 mg extract is resveratrol.
Can a higher resveratrol dose be taken from two capsules?
The label gives one capsule a day and says not to go over the recommended amount. Do not double up to reach a study dose.
Does 12 mg of extract match the doses used in trials?
We cannot say it does. Trials differ in dose and form, so read each study's own numbers before comparing.
